Why We're offering Extra Garbage day services
Welcome to Extra Garbage day!
Over the past few decades, waste collection has gone from the manual tossing of bags and cans to where we are now, with fully automated 3 stream cart collection. This has really opened up our eyes to how the times have changed and have witnessed first hand the challenges and problems the cart system has brought with it. Old lawn chairs, large broken toys, and other junk are building up on properties mostly because of the current automated collection trucks that are being used.
Before the cart system, waste collectors were often more than happy to help out by taking some of the bigger, bulkier items for residents. Today we often find waste collectors are no longer getting out of their trucks as often to take larger items for residents because the items won’t fit in the carts provided by the city.
A few years down the road there was the introduction of biweekly garbage collection which proves difficult for a lot of residents with large families or home businesses. Black carts started overflowing after a week allowing birds and other animals to tear open bags resulting a lot litter strewn about the streets, which is rather unsightly! These combination of factors sparked our idea of starting a company which provided additional disposal services to residential households and so, “Extra Garbage Day Inc” was created!

THE TRUTH IS...
A lot of us have large families, small businesses, or other activities which generate an above average amount of waste. Not to mention not everything that stinks can go in the green and blue carts. Non-compostable meat/food packaging and diapers end up stewing in garbage carts for up to 2 weeks!
There’s a reason why garbage is still picked up weekly in most other municipalities. It’s a breeding ground for disease, rodents and other pests.
